Your heart chakra explored...

Writer's picture: Love Happens to MeLove Happens to Me

Your heart chakra is located in your chest.

Its most commonly seen as pink in colour, however it is also referred to as green in colour, the two colours representing different elements of the heart chakra.

When you are aware of the chakras and their meanings as well as relations to your mind, body and soul you can learn how to maintain your health and wellness, and recognise potential sources of symptoms when they arise.

Known as your unconditional love centre this chakra’s energy enables you to fully love yourself, others and life unconditionally.

The pink association refers to love, compassion and acceptance.

The key to understanding the heart chakra is to remember that it starts with YOU first – the love, compassion and acceptance should be focused at you first and then others afterwards.

Self-care, self-love and self-acceptance should be your first priority.

Afterall, when we can love ourselves, we can love others.

The green association with the heart chakra refers to progress and forward movement, letting go of the past.

This is equally something vitally important for you to be able to move forward in life, removing the attachment of old experiences, emotions and feelings.

This is your chakra you turn to when you want live from a heart centred place and be forward moving in life and your emotions.

Jealousy is the block of this unconditional love centre.

This means that if you feel an excess of this emotion, it will create a block of energy flow in your heart chakra. Acknowledging this in yourself is the start to making a change in your life experience.

Mental

With a balance of heart chakra energy you will feel free with knowledge, innovation and freedom within a framework of routine and discipline.

With a lack of energy in this area you may find it hard to forgive and hold grudges.

Physical

When it comes to your physical existence, your heart chakra is related to your heart, lungs, arms, hands, chest.

Issues in these areas can indicate an imbalance of heart chakra energy.

Emotional

If there is an imbalance of heart chakra energy you may feel you need to please others over yourself, and prioritise other’s needs over your own.

This can lead you to feeling resentful in the long run, but unsure as to how to change because of your need to serve others and receive the expected recognition.

You may also find yourself being very jealous and unable to deal with occurrences where your jealousy is flared.

Having a balance of energy in your heart chakra will enable you to feel confident in making time for yourself, investing in your self-care and loving and accepting who you are.

Spiritual

With a lack of heart chakra energy you may feel unfulfilled and confused over who you really are.

With a balance of heart chakra energy you will feel content with who you are and confident in being yourself, you will feel tolerant and sympathy for others, be able to live life from a heart centred focus and feel emotionally strong.

Crystals and your heart chakra

You can do many things to boost the energy to your heart chakra.

Using crystals is one way to do this.

When focusing on chakras, you can place the crystals on those areas of your body where the chakra is found. This will enable the energy to be balanced, when done regularly.

To get started, these crystals are great to work with your heart chakra:

1. Rose quartz

2. Aventurine

3. Ruby

4. Malachite

Placing these crystals on your heart chakra will promote a healthy flow of energy – releasing any stuck energy and boosting energy when needed.
